How it works and what is it for?

Initially designed as parental control, R-SENTINEL has also proven to be useful in securing Wifi networks in the business world.
This "router" retrieves access to the Internet on an existing network and broadcasts a dedicated Wifi network.
The mobile application installed for the R-Sentinel Administrator will allow him/her to simply enable,
disable, and schedule filtering of websites by categories (Pornography, Social Networks, Artificial Intelligence, and many others).
Users of this wifi network will therefore be dependent on the censorship choices made by the administrator.

What R-SENTINEL does NOT do:

R-SENTINEL only manages its WIFI connection. No 3G/4G/5G data from mobile phones connected to R-SENTINEL will be filtered or observed.
Likewise, filtering only works for Internet browsers and not for applications from the Play Store(c) or the Apple Store(c).

Installation method

The installation steps are:
- Connection of R-SENTINEL and connection to an existing wired Internet network.
- Installation of a Certificate on the browsers of the clients to be connected (PC, Tablets, SmartPhones)
- Installation of the application that communicates with R-SENTINEL (Android for the moment, MacOs in development) on the Administrator's device.
Installation assistance is currently being drafted.

The commercialization of R-SENTINEL is currently under study.

R-SENTINEL is a micro-computer based on Linux Debian technology.
Therefore, thanks to the entire team maintaining the Debian project.
Likewise, thanks to the developers of the Squid packages ("Squid Developers") and SquidGuard (P. Baltzersen / Lars-Erik Haland).
Special thanks to all the contributors of blacklists updated on the Internet, such as Urlblaclist, MalwareDomainList, DansGuardian, Shalla's Blackist, and the Blacklist updated by the University of Toulouse, and particularly M. Prigent.

The R-SENTINEL system is currently undergoing a patent application with INPI under number FR2300025.
